The purpose of the category "About Us" is to give the reader a glimpse into Brunstad Christian Church's doctrine, history, development and foundational beliefs, in the space of 20-30 minutes.  Thus there will be very little change to the information that is placed under this category. 

Brunstad Church's Website now in five languages!

On March 19, 2008,  Brunstad Christian Church’s official website, which was launched on January 15 (in Norwegian), came out in four more languages:  English, German, Dutch and Finnish.  This day is a landmark in the history of the church!



"Smith's Friends"

Johan Oscar SmithBrunstad Christian Church, also known to some as Smith’s Friends, began with a Norwegian Naval Officer named Johan Oscar Smith.  Smith was born in Fredrikstad, Norway in 1871 and grew up in a good and harmonious family, which was actively involved in Christian missionary work.
