Outdoor Challenge Finale!

Two Norwegian teams made it to the Outdoor Challenge finale this year:  Hamar and Hønefoss.  These two teams were given the honor of completing the final phase of their hunt for gold in El Dorado in the auditorium at Brunstad Conference Center.

In their search for the lost Inca treasure in El Dorado, the teams from Hamar and Hønefoss competed against one another in five final challenges to decide the winner of the 2008 Outdoor Challenge.  They were forced to take the most difficult route to the wise man seated atop the Tibetan mountains, find their way through a dangerous labyrinth and assemble a totem pole, compete for their lives against wild natives, and gather gold in the Klondike.

In between the various challenges, the audience accompanied Raymond Moufraix on his adventures and hardships in the Amazons, both live and on film.  And when fate dealt cruelly with the French adventurer, forcing him to lose out on his chance to find the long-lost gold, the Hamar team pressed on, their ingenuity and luck holding out to win the 2008 Outdoor Challenge and to find the long-lost gold buried in the depths of an erupting volcano.  Each participant received a mountain bike, and 10,000 NOK was awarded to the youth group in Hamar.

The totem pole found in the old labyrinth had to be correctly assembled.  The Hamar team is on the left, the Hønefoss team on the right.

The audience was given red and green signs with which they could decide Raymond Moufraix's fate at the hands of the natives.

Hamar holds the long-lost Inca treasure—the golden star—which they took from the bowels of a fire spewing volcano after winning over Hønefoss by one point.
