Getting to Know God's Word
Every Wednesday evening, at the same time as the regular mid-week meeting, eleven young people in Hamar gather to learn about and discuss God's word.
Bible study teachers Frøydis Bratlie and Alv Jørgen Bovolden say that this yearæs group of 14-15 year olds is interested and willing to listen. "It is incredibly good and strengthening to be together and peacefully work with God's word. We look forward to the many Wednesday nights together before the Bible Study group ends in June."
The instruction goes far beyond simply learning the names of the Bible by heart. They read from the Bible together, talk about what is written there, and encourage each other to live their lives faithfully according to God's word.
Dag (15) says that these studies are exciting and instructive. "I get most of it. I think now I will understand more of what they talk about in the church services." He adds that it is also fun just to get together with people of the same age.
"I look forward to every time," says Mairin (14), as she waits for her parents to pick her up. "See you next Wednesday!"
"I look forward to Wednesday evenings," says Ellen (14). "We learn a lot, but it is also fun! We also have good food and hang out together afterward." She enjoys the lessons and tests as well, even if she gets some answers wrong.
