100 attend New Zealand conference

In January, 100 people from Oceania and Europe gathered at Waihi Beach on New Zealand’s North Island, looking forward to hearing God’s Word. They were not disappointed.

WAIHI BEACH: ”It especially made an impression on me what we heard about living our Christian lives in the truth, without any hypocrisy. Only then am I able to grow in God,” says Liandri Smith, age 22.

She was one of those who were very thankful they could to participate in the eighth annual January conference at Waihi Beach.

A conference with a rich tradition

This year, as before, the church leader Kåre J. Smith and several other friends from different countries attended this January conference. About 100 friends from New Zealand, Australia, and Europe came to Waihi Beach on North Island this year for a week of prayer, fellowship, and fun.

Wonderful setting for the conference

The conference center is located right on the beach, and is rejuvenating for the many travelers from the cold, wintery north. People swam, enjoyed the sunshine, had fellowship, and generally enjoyed themselves. In it all they were united with bonds that traverse national borders.

A volleyball tournament was organized, and everyone could participate. Both young and old were actively involved in this competition.

God’s Word makes the deepest impression

There is place for activities and recreation at conferences like this one; yet, it is God’s Word that makes the deepest impression on those who attend.

“It became very clear to me that the resurrection power God used to raise Jesus from the dead is still available for me in my circumstances in the battle against sin,” says Dolly Rall, age 53.

Close encounters with friends

It is the fellowship between the meetings that make our conferences so rich.

“It is a unique experience to be in such close proximity to people who have lived a life with God,” the participants say.

During conversations in this relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, many interesting stories and uplifting words are shared that build on what was spoken during the meetings.

Enthusiastic participants say, “There is an incredible drawing power when you listen to these people, and you can see that their life matches their teaching.”

Liandri smiles. ”This conference has been the best experience I have had in my life!”.

Dolly agrees completely. ”Coming to this conference has been the best investment I have ever made,” she concludes decidedly.
