An Angel Called Angela

It is not just in the serious and fateful situations that we should turn to God for help. He is there for us in the most common everyday situations.

I was pregnant with our ninth child, and we were so happy about getting a new little baby! However, I was a little tired and unable to be very physically active, and I just couldn't get everything ready before the baby was to arrive. But I had to. I asked around to see if anyone knew of someone who might be able to help me, but got no results.
Finally, one day, I was standing in the kitchen at my wit's end, and I just didn't know what to do. So I raised my arms and said to God: "God, if there is no one who can help me, would you please send me an angel?"
One hour later I received a phone call from someone in charge of a training program for nursing students. They were wondering if they could place a student in my home for a practicum. They were looking for a family with several small children, and our family fit the criteria perfectly. The student's name was Angela (which means "angel"!), and she would be able to start the very next day.
The next morning, there was Angela, a tough girl with rosy cheeks and curly, dark-brown hair. And how she could work! Just like an angel, she made everything ready in time. The whole house was clean and orderly, and the only thing left was for the baby to come.
I didn't just receive help—I received comfort and thankfulness too! "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Phil. 4:6. This verse has been an immense help to me all my life. As it says in verse 5, "The Lord is at hand."
