The Church in Schalkwijk

In July 2008, just after the article about her was published on our website, Bep de Kort died after a long illness.  We heard so many good things about her at the memorial service that we wanted to write another article.

To celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of a new season, the young people in Schalkwijk planned a Junior Outdoor Challenge for the children.

I am visiting a hero of faith in the Netherlands.  She sits hunched over in her wheelchair—but with a radiant smile that lights up her entire face.

On a recent Saturday afternoon, our youth group in Schalkwijk had the youth group in Terwolde over for a visit (both churches are in the Netherlands). It was a beautiful, sunny day with not a cloud in sight.
