What happened to miracles?

We recently discussed faith at school. During the conversation one of my school friends said He found it difficult to believe in God, because he could not see that God exists.

But in the Bible you can read about amazing miracles. Moses, for example, witnessed the parting of the Red Sea, a burning bush that was not consumed by the flames, and bitter water becoming sweet. Later, three men survived the flames of a fiery furnace unscathed. When the disciples received the Holy Spirit, they could suddenly speak foreign languages. Saul had a vision of Jesus, after which he was blind for three days, and then received his sight again. Following this he got converted and became one of the greatest evangelists ever.

All the miracles I read about in the bible make me thoughtful. My life has been pretty normal up until now. My average day is very average. Why have I never experienced any miraculous occurrences? Has the day of miracles ceased?

Jesus says in John 4:48: “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” It should not be necessary to wait for a great sign or wonder, to use that as an opportunity to be converted and come to faith.

What is truly great is that if I allow God into my life and believe in Him, then miracles will take place in my life! The greatest miracle that can happen is that my life becomes full of good qualities. I don’t possess these naturally. Only God can perform such a miracle.

“But the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.” (Gal. 5:22)
