Making a conscious effort to humble ourselves

Published: Friday, September 09, 2011

“As humans, we do not need to make any effort to exalt ourselves. This happens all by itself. Therefore, we need to make a conscious effort to humbling ourselves,” explains Harald Kronstad in one of his messages.

Youthful lusts are made up largely of egotism and pride, and many people think they can do just fine without God’s Word. Therefore, we must consciously strive to grow in humility, so that God is not compelled to resist us, as it is written in James 4:6, “Therefore He says, ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’”
