In Hebrews 13:4 it is written, “Marriage is honorable among all.” We can be glad that we are able to loudly proclaim this in these times, when godless and lawless powers are in the process of destroying marriages and families, which are such central components of society.
Yes, it is our duty and our honor to preach this, and to be faithful witnesses about marriage and family life according to God’s will.
“And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8. This is the calling and task of a true disciple of Jesus, even today. And so we ought to say as the prophet Isaiah: “Here am I! Send me!” But then we should note that it was first and foremost in Jerusalem that they were to begin witnessing. It can be tempting to want to do something for God at “the end of the earth”. But what can you do at the end of the earth if you can’t be a witness in your home? That is where our lives must witness about God’s goodness, about the way in Jesus footsteps, about the gospel which is the power of God to salvation, yes, a deeper and deeper salvation.
What a testimony in a dark time! Parents who can testify about a deep and fervent love for one another. And children that grow up to be witnesses for Jesus Christ about a happy life in God. “Here am I! Send me!” Yes, first to our home, our personal Jerusalem. If you are a faithful witness there, God will be able to use you in “Judea, Samaria and to the end of the earth”, if that is His will with your life.
Someone who has been a witness for the Lord in their own home and family testifies about something very beautiful. For example, “What God has joined together, let not man separate.” Matt 19:6. This is how Jesus speaks about marriage—He says at the same time that a man and his wife are one. This is truly beautiful. Dear young people, fight for what is beautiful in life! And if it is God’s Will that you will be married one day, let your future marriage also be honorable. By keeping your path pure!
