Christmas lights 2011

Some people laugh until tears are streaming down their cheeks. Others stare in disbelief with their mouths half open. The little tyke with the Santa hat and the stern expression on his face is singing and dancing with an intensity that takes our breath away.

It is a festive evening that is full of Christmas spirit. We are presented with a whole spectrum of musical experiences: The delicate, beautiful tone of strings, harp, glockenspiel, a choir singing in unison, and an enchanting voice, gives us glowing eyes and goose bumps. The big band lights the audience on fire, and make “the dancing feet move.” With a pleasant mix of upbeat and slower songs, we never quite know what to expect.

And then comes the highlight no one was expecting. Some people laugh until tears are streaming down their cheeks. Others stare in disbelief with their mouths half open. The little tyke with the Santa hat and the stern expression on his face is singing and dancing with an intensity that takes our breath away. Never before has the “father elf” had a better “groove” or more admirers.

The true light

“Here we have heard the Christmas gospel both through music and in messages. If we receive it, we can rejoice; not only today, but all the days of our lives,” says Bernt Stadven in his short message to us during the Christmas concert. He encourages us to receive the true light that Jesus brought, and let it shine in all the “nooks and crannies” of our lives; and then we follow that with walking in the light, as He is in the light. (1 John 1:7)

Whether or not you were able to share this experience with us this Saturday, here you can enjoy a few good excerpts. (See also the photo gallery at the bottom of the article.):
