BRUNSTAD, NORWAY: “In order to get grace to receive the Word of God, we need to lay aside all evil.” Kåre Smith started the second day of the Easter conference with simple instructions for making the Bible come alive.
A heart that is pure for God is required so that God’s Word comes alive for us. Kåre Smith read from James 1:21-22, “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
”For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart! [Hebrews 4:12] If the Word doesn’t pierce through, then leprosy [sin] breaks out!” Smith warns.
We must get rid of sin!
At the second meeting this Saturday, Arild Tombre spoke about that the sin which entered in through the fall must be put out again. “Each person should examine themselves to see if that is true for them,” Tombre said, referring enthusiastically to the fact that it is completely possible to be finished with sin.
